This Christmas, you are more than an ally – you are family.
Torture takes everything and everyone from a person. When a survivor of torture flees to the UK to stay alive, they arrive scared and alone. No one to talk to, no one to say a kind word or to help them feel safe.
But this Christmas, you can be a part of the family of support that hundreds of torture survivors need. Browse below to see the gifts you could buy this Christmas - gifts that give torture survivors a vital chance to recover.

Make a donation
Donate to support someone rebuilding their life after torture. Your gift today could help provide counselling, group therapy and ongoing support. Or it could help provide urgent practical assistance to someone facing poverty or homelessness.
Whatever you give, it will help give someone hope and strength on their journey to recovery.

Etienne's story
“I cried every day. When I was thinking about my torture, my family, my kids, I just started crying. But Freedom from Torture helped me a lot. Freedom from Torture is my family. Ruth my therapist, for me she’s not a therapist, she’s my sister.”
- Etienne, husband, father and survivor of torture.

- Kay, supporter
"No human being should endure such cruelty in any form or shape. It is our duty to help people facing torture at all times and above all bring their perpetrators to justice."

How It Works
When you buy a gift for a torture survivor, you're making a donation to Freedom from Torture. We'll use donations to buy essential items for the survivors we support across the UK.
In 2022, for every £1 we spent on direct fundraising costs we generated £3.21.
